August Macke. Von Kandern bis Tunis

August Macke. From Kandern to Tunis. A small retrospective with works from the years 1904–1914

August Macke achieved and created amazing things in his short lifetime. The significance of his work impacts German art before the First World War both in its development and in its substance.

The book documents significant oil paintings and watercolors by the artist and presents numerous drawings. The accompanying text by the Macke expert Ursula Heiderich traces the formative stages of the artist’s life and the development of his work.
