The richly illustrated catalog shows how modern and contemporary artists are reviving and continuing the Renaissance as a flash point, as a source of friction, and as a venue for intellectual battles in their work. The book is a tribute to this brilliant time of awakening with all its rediscoveries and new discoveries that led to a completely different societal identity and placed the arts on an equal footing with the sciences.
