Norbert Tadeusz. Olé
Norbert Tadeusz’ works from 1974 to 2006 show interiors, everyday scenes, and still lifes. For him, the seemingly insignificant scenes and details turn out to be experiential spaces in which the atmosphere, emotions, and perceived conditions are compacted (Reinhard Spieler). Above all, the work from the 1970s can also be viewed from a new perspective: as a wonderful chronicle of the zeitgeist and attitude of these years, as well as a reflection on the painting of David Hockney and American Pop Art. As a result of this, the presentation also provides a perspective for a revaluation and reclassification of the work, in addition to a rediscovery of certain topics.
The exhibition Olé and this book were created in close collaboration with the estate of Norbert Tadeusz, who has been represented by Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art since the beginning of 2016.
